Miscellaneous » Multisite support
TL;DR
WP fail2ban Free works with WordPress Multisite, bringing the same application-aware events and fail2ban protection to every site in the network. It is a network-only plugin: you enable it once for the network, not separately for each site.
Bronze is for a standalone WordPress site and does not run on Multisite. Silver adds Premium support for a network, including per-site views of the event log and dashboard widgets.
Protect the whole network with Free
A Multisite network runs many sites through one WordPress installation. WP fail2ban Free works across that installation and records the security events that fail2ban can enforce for the shared host.
WP fail2ban is therefore enabled at the network level. Individual sites do not activate separate copies, because they share the WordPress installation and the firewall boundary the plugin protects.
The network keeps the same WordPress-aware protection as a standalone installation, while the firewall acts on the traffic reaching the server.
Choose the Premium plan built for Multisite
Bronze is deliberately a single-site plan and will not run on a Multisite network. Silver is the starting point for Premium on Multisite and includes the Premium controls available to the network.
That distinction is made before installation: use Free for the core WP fail2ban protection, or choose Silver when the network needs Premium features and visibility.
See what is happening on each site
A network-wide event history can tell you what is happening across the installation. Silver also gives you a per-site slice of the event log, so you can separate activity affecting one site from patterns appearing across the network.
The dashboard widgets follow the same per-site view. You can keep the shared protection while looking at the part of the network that matters to the investigation.
